  1. Ouch! We are all worried about you Mrs. Vieira. How big is the bull ant? (Ashley)We are enjoying your posts we have some questions for you. How big can a Koala grow? (Sage) Are the number of koalas getting lower because of humans? (Harper) How many koalas have you seen? What is the population of koalas in Australia (Catherine). We look forward to seeing you on Skype Friday.

    1. Ashley, the bull ant is one inch long.
Sage, a male koala can grow to be about 28 pounds and a female 20 pounds.
Harper, Humans are definitely part of the problem, but there are other things that are also causing problems, like lack of natural predators and lack of bush fires in this area.
Catherine, There are 500,000 koalas in the entire country, about 4,000 in the Cape Otway area where I am.

    1. Jameson, The sting really hurt at first, but we put some cream on it right away so it felt better. When we are out in the field we always carry first aid kits because there are lots of stinging insects and venomous snakes here!

  3. Ouch. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much would you rate the pain of the bite?
